This class will serve as the official training course to join the Journey Beads volunteer bead makers group. The first class session will begin with a brief lecture about the program and the children we hope to benefit through our service, then students will begin their own journey into glass bead making with the help of our skilled and tenured instructors. Essential skills and techniques will be addressed with the goal of becoming competent in bead-making. Previous experience required: Students must have completed one “Make It!” Journey Beads class (or similar experience working with a lampworking torch).
Day 1: June 15, 5 pm – 8 pm — Introduction to the program and bead making processes. Topics will include the Journey Beads mission, Bead quality control and its importance to beneficiaries, intro to safety, tools, and equipment.
Day 2: June 16, 5 pm – 8 pm — This session will pick up where the first leaves off, hands on practice and increasingly advanced techniques will be demonstrated.
Each ticket purchased grants you entry to both dates: Wednesday June 15 and Thursday June 16
