Bead Making Essentials (January 16, 23, & 30)

Learn the basic technique of forming beads on a mandrel using a torch. In this 3 week course, you will use soft (Moretti) glass to build colorful glass beads. Studio safety, glass compatibility, annealing, bead shaping, and basic bead decorating will be covered in this class as you learn to use heat and gravity to shape molten glass. You will be introduced to the tools used in torch working and taught the basics of glass sculpting with a torch. This class will also cover various color applications and bead design elements. Each student will make a number of beads as they learn the process.

PRIOR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Must have completed a “Make It!” Course in Torch Working or similar experience to participate.

Students must be 12 years or older.  Students under 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

All tools, materials, and finished project included with ticket price.

Projects created in our studios will be ready for pickup 5-7 days after completion.
