Glass Art Kalamazoo is proud to present the return of our Summer Camp programs! Designed for children between the ages of 10-18, our camp will introduce children to a range of glass making processes including Glass Blowing, two methods of Flame working, and Kiln Fusing. Additionally, students will be introduced to the scientific concepts that have shaped modern glass making and the history of glass art and craft in America.
Campers will explore at least 2 different methods of glass manipulation each day culminating in a final exhibition juried by our resident artists and instructors. Student work will be displayed in our studios during events on the Friday evening following camp with awards for excellence in Glass Art. Projects will include paperweights, bead creatures, fused plates and portraits, borosilicate animals or pendants, and finish up with a the glass olympics on the last morning of camp.
Water, snacks, and a camp t-shirt will be included; however you will need to provide a lunch for your camper.
